In his book, Purple Cow, Seth Godin famously talks about the importance of making your brand stand out. Well, I’m going to put this idea into perspective using a different example: purple high heels.

I bet one lie you believe about you and your brand is that your niche has been done and there’s no way you can compete. You might say that the world doesn’t need another travel blogger, wedding photographer, graphic designer, etc., so why bother?

The truth is, you have your own unique perspective and personality to bring to any niche or topic you want to write about, you just have to brand yourself around your special flare.

So for example, in a sea of real estate agents, how can you make yourself memorable? It might sound silly, but what if you’re that realtor around town who is always wearing purple high heels? It would start to become your trademark.

Or remember that dog photographer who went viral for specializing in underwater dog photos? That was their edge, their angle, their special flare. .
How can you make one small tweak to your brand to make your image or your work instantly recognizable and unforgettable?

The answer might be in your closet, or you may need to dig a little deeper, but you have that something special!
